Coming alone?

Good. That's rather the point.

You N Me' Café was created from one simple belief: no one should have to miss out on life simply because they have no one to go with.

The wall of handwritten notes guests leave for each other
You should not have to wait for someone to be free before enjoying a meal, celebrating something, attending an event, or stepping outside on a difficult day.

Here, arriving alone is never unusual.

When you get here

Pick whichever one you can manage today.

  • 01

    Take a table for yourself

Sit down, order, stay as long as you like. Nobody will ask if you're waiting for someone, and nobody will hand you the bill as a hint.

  • 02

    Turn the marker over

There's a small wooden marker on each table. Turned over, it means you're open to company. Left as it is, it means you'd rather not be. Both are completely ordinary here.

  • 03

    Order a conversation

It's on the menu and it's free. Ask at the counter and when someone's available, we'll sit down with you.

    How it works
  • 04

    Ask for Amrin

If your day has been heavy and you need someone to listen, ask for her by name. That offer is real and she means it.

  • 05

    Join something

Community lunches, board game nights, meetups for people new to the city. Turning up alone is the expected way to turn up.

  • 06

    Say nothing at all

Sit with a book, a laptop, or neither, and let a room with people in it do the work. That counts. That's most of what this place is for.

All of these are normal. None of them require you to explain yourself.

And if you have a win but nobody to celebrate it with — celebrate it with us.

Got a promotion, passed the exam, got the visa, finished the thing? Tell whoever's behind the counter. We will make an unreasonable fuss about it.

That's not a gimmick. Having good news and nowhere to put it is one of the loneliest feelings there is, and it's a large part of why this café exists.

This café is not only for people who feel lonely.

It's for anyone who believes the world needs more kindness, more connection, and more places where people genuinely care about one another.

Come alone or come together. Either way, you are part of the humanity we are building here.

There's already a place for you.

Walk in exactly as you are. 921 12th Street, most days from morning until late.
