Order a Conversation
Free
Sometimes, you don't need advice.
You don't need therapy.
You don't even need coffee.
Sometimes, you just need someone to sit beside you and listen.

Come in and ask any time you're
- having a hard day
- feeling lonely
- carrying something heavy
- celebrating something wonderful
- or simply wishing you had someone to talk to
Come in and ask for a conversation.
And then?
- You can talk.
- You can vent.
- You can cry.
- You can share your story.
- You can celebrate your win.
- Or you can simply sit with another human being.
There's no right way to do it. There's no minimum. There's nothing you have to say.
You should never have to pay just to feel heard.
Amrin will come and sit with you.
When someone orders a conversation, Amrin — who founded this café — comes and sits with them personally whenever she possibly can.
Not a staff member following a script. Her.
Because inside this café she wants to be a human first, and a business owner second.
How it works
- 1
Ask
Say "can I order a conversation?" at the counter. Or just ask for Amrin. Nobody will make it a moment.
- 2
We sit down
Right away if we can, in a few minutes if we're busy. We'll tell you honestly which it is.
- 3
That's it
Ten minutes or an hour. You lead. We listen. And it stays between us.
Really free?
Really. You do not need to buy anything to deserve someone's time, someone's company, or someone's listening ear.
No minimum. No small print. Nobody will look at you strangely for asking.
If you'd like a coffee too, wonderful — we are still a café. But the conversation isn't attached to it, and it never will be.
Who you'll be talking to
Amrin whenever she's here. Otherwise whoever is on shift, or sometimes a regular who has been coming long enough to be part of the furniture and has offered.
Everyone who sits down with you has agreed to two things: listen properly, and don't repeat it.
One thing we want to be honest about
This is one person sitting with another person. It's the thing a neighbour used to do over a fence.
It is not therapy, counselling, crisis support or professional mental-health treatment, and we won't pretend otherwise. If what you're carrying is heavier than a conversation, we'll say so kindly — and we keep information about local services behind the counter for exactly that reason.
If you need help right now: If you're in crisis right now in BC, call or text 988, or call 310-6789 for the provincial mental health line. Both are free and open 24 hours a day.

No pressure
And if talking feels like too much today
Come anyway.
Order the chai, take the seat by the window, and let the sound of a room with people in it do the work. That counts too. That's most of what this place is for.
The offer stands whenever you want it.
No booking. No schedule. Every hour we're open.
